Day 10 - 25.06.21: Denali- missing home.

​June 25, 2021.

Another blustery day with heavy snow in the night and the morning. The wind on the ridge was too strong and the risk of avalanches too great for anyone to leave the camp. So, in bed till 9am. And then with the wind easing we decided to build our right wall because that’s where the wind is coming from. Two hours of cutting snow blocks and mounting them and the wall was completed. This also gave us the opportunity to bury our breakfast (very stodgy oatmeals) and the remaining of thequesadillas. As the Chinese did “we buried our secrets in the wall”.

Lunch in tent, some reading, a nap and finally the sun appeared in time for some afternoon entertainment (some skiers climbing a bit of the ridge and skiing down). Tortellini dinner. Wash up with some amazing mountains scenery and ready to bed. We hope for good weather to do a cache climb tomorrow. We just need three days of good weather to complete the summit. Everyone is a bit bored. Fingers crossed.
