Day 4 - 19.06.21: Denali- move to 11000ft.
June 19, 2021.
Big move today. Between 9000 to 11000 feet. The toughest day so far for the amount of weight we carried. Rough calculations is: 50kg between the pack and the sled. We almost died on a couple of inclines because of the degree and the weight. We got lucky with the weather although windy and cloudy it was not cold. Climb took 3 hours and everyone was thoroughly exhausted. Team Bob and Marco were the first into camp. And we followed the 3, 4, 2 formation as yesterday with the slowest member in the team completing the climb in 5 and half hours. Atmosphere in camp is better. We are faster to break camp and go although with a lot of help of superman Dawson and Marco assisting everyone to turn their tents down. Mao was reprimanded for questioning our speed. Nap and book in the afternoon. We continue with overnight schedule.
PS: pasta for dinner in the same bowl where we had cereals in the morning. We have been told there’s a rigorous policy of not washing your bowl not to waste water (ie: snow).
PPS: Eating dried prunes causing regular visits to the CMC....
